Hi. I'm having trouble with the installtion of irix 6.5 from a Linux
server. Here's the basic setup:
-Origin 200
-3 Original overlays CDs (
-3 BURNED Found1, Found2, and Apps Nov '01 CDs
-the burned cds were dumped into seperate directories on the linux server
Ok, so I boot Inst with overlay 1, continue to read all three overlay
CDs sucessfully. Then comes time to point the Inst program to read CDs
off of the remote host. This is when the problem starts. It reads
Foundation 1 to about 45% and then cuts off with errors (see link). Same
thing for Foundation 2 and Apps. When I try to install I get about 20
installation conflicts. This message isn't really descriptive about the
errors so I will just leave the explanation to the .txt file I link to.
Points of interest:
Line 201 - errors start for Foundation 1 reading
Line 233 - errors start for Foundation 2 reading
Line 380 - errors for Apps reading
Line 467 - all of the conflicts
install log: http://www.shootzombies.ssxh.net/sgi/irixinstalllog.txt
Notes: I upgraded to the latest ksh shell; the burned cds will not mount
on the origin because they were burned with the wrong file system; I
tried both a maint install and a feature install, with no luck
Thanks for any help,
Wes
