Arg... I hate bad web mail clients. I accidentally deleted an email
with a helpful suggestion from England.
That guy suggested that I make a little script that watches for the
programs that rebuild a disk and just do a little script that emails
me when they first appear and disappear from the process list.
Anybody know what programs get run when you put in a new disk? I
forgot to check last time a new disk got put in. Would this be
something in the array's onboard processor, so I won't see any new
processes?
Any ideas for the one drive down senario?
Thanks!

p.s. I can't believe something doesn't get written to SYSLOG
periodically when a drive is bad in the array. Did I miss something
in the SYSLOG. Is it logged somewhere else, like in /var/cluster/log?
It's been about 4 years since I spent much time admin'ing SGI boxes,
so this cluster stuff is new to me.
