I have two Seagate 10K disk striped together internally in the Octane
(R12K/300, MXE, 1GB RAM) as a scratch vault. The playback is about 90%
realtime for uncompressed images and is due to the disks (I play sound
simultaneously and the sync gets lost a couple of seconds into the
clip). I have now aquired a fibre channel block which should enable
real-time playback. I will test it this weekend and maybe post an
update.
