I may seem a bit harsh now, but, does esp serve any core purpose on
workstations? I mean.. apart some bookkeeping and nifty graphical
warnings? Can be safely disabled/removed in some way?
I'm asking this because I'm getting really tired of seeing configmon's
2g core files in my root, always-growing /var/esp files without system
changes, random traps in SYSLOG, and espdbd (which is really a mysql
server!) moaning. It all started since .23, and since I didn't notice
any side effects I'm wondering...
availmon and eventmonitor depend on it. Anything else?
