Dear Chris,
If I recall correctly I had something similiar recently.
In my case it related to the fact that the CDrom player didn't read the
media reliable.
I first thought my media was scratched to much. But checking that on
another system showed that wasn't it.
Cleaning the lens head solved it for me.
