    No idea if that is a common problem. Some obvious things to check:

    1. Can you mount the sgi disks on some other machine?

    2. Can you mount exported disks from some other machine on the mac?

    3. Can the machines see each other, resolve each others DNS names etc.?

    What does exportfs say on the O2?
