I have an issue with the V12 in my Tezros and Fuels. I'm trying to use
rdesktop, and it will not display in anything other than 8bits on the v12
machines. It's fine on Octanes and O2s with 24bit displays (though it
always falls back to 16 for whatever reason, but I can live with that).
On the V12 graphics boards, it falls back to 16bit depth, same as the MXE
and CRM based graphics boards, but the window is totally black. I'm using
the same executable (off an NFS share) on all the machines, compiled with:
8:37am dragon /home/jamie %uname -aR
IRIX64 dragon 6.5 6.5.28m 07010238 IP27
8:37am dragon /home/jamie %cc -v
MIPSpro Compilers: Version 7.4.3m
8:38am dragon /home/jamie %cat /etc/compiler.defaults
-DEFAULT:abi=n32:isa=mips3:proc=r4k
I've tried using both rdesktop 1.1.0, 1.3.1 and 1.4.1 (really old, one
release back and current release), all with the same results.
On MacOS X, FreeBSD, and Linux machines with 24bit displays, rdesktop
works as expected at 8, 16, and 24 bit depths, so it's something Irix
specific for the fallback to 16 bits, and V12 specific with not being able
to render properly at all.
