Many people I worked with scoffed at me studying for my SCSA, since I
had 8+ years admin exp. back when I took the test. Times were good
back then. Now that the job market is much tighter, I'm glad I have
it. Given 2 employees with similiar skill sets and experience, I'd
hire the applicant who took the time and effort to get certified by
SUN. (that's the line you'll get from HR)
SUN may say the certifications are only "valid" for 2 years, but if
you're SCSA for Solaris 8, any shop running Solaris 8 will accept it
(well, acknowledge it) and won't really care if you've had it for 18
months or 36 months.
