A3500 batteries can NOT be hot-swapped as you've suggested.
The write cache will NOT come back on automatically, you will need to reset
the battery age with Raid Manager.
It will NOT take a couple of days for the battery to become fully charged -
more likely somewhere between a few hours and about 12 hours (depending on
how new the battery is)
The batteries last 2 years, not 1 year.
Follow the procedure in the manual and you'll be right...
