I don't think I'll be advertising my email address quite so widely in
future. Perhaps its too late. I'm tempted to change email address, but
they I feel they (the spammers/virus writers) have won, which is not
something I want.

I've used the Hotmail account once and have no real intention of using
it again. I just wanted to be able to post by Google groups (which I
often do anyway as NTL's newsgroup server is very unrelieable) I think
my email address indicates I'm not likley to respond to mail sent to
the hotmail address.
I just happended to look to see if the virus had been sent there, and
yes I have multiple copies of it. I can't be bothered to delete them -
let Microsoft/hotmail sort them out.
I'll look at Netscape.net. I recally only care for a decent way to
post to newsgroups. Google groups is not great, as you can't set up a
signiture and there is no spell checker (I really need one of those!)
For now at least I am going to continue using the ntl email address.
Despite the fact their attitude to virus irritates me, I pay only 15
pounds/month, get telephone calls to the value of 15 pounds for
nothing, and they don't seem to mind I stay on 24/7. So I get a
reasonable deal from them. I can't complain, although there are
perhaps other more attractive deals around, I'd rather not change
email address.

I wonder if they will have the option of not caring much longer ? As
Rick pointed out, they are probably paying for the bandwidth. Someone
sends me a virus, I download it and it goes to /dev/null. It seems
rather illogical. But given then can easily screen the incoming mail
for viruses, I feel they should give customers the option of having
the mail screened.
