Well, IMHO that is like comparing a box fan to an air conditioner. I
have used legato in the past and while it may be reliable in small
environments, when the index gets large, it becomes a bear to work with.

We are currently using Veritas Netbackup and we backup about 15TB of
data a week. My client platforms include nearly every variety of linux,
Windows 2K/Xp, W2K Server, Tru-64, Solaris 8 & 9 (which is what our
master and media servers run on), and Irix 6.5.x. We also use the Oracle
Addons and are getting ready to implement the Exchange addon as well.

We have Netbackup DataCenter 4.5. (but we are not really using the Data
Center features at the moment)

Of course, Netbackup is not a walk in the park either, but very reliable
if your hardware is well supported and you have admins that keep on top
of things. (ie: patches, logs, firmware, etc...) We are currently using
Qualstar AIT-2 libraries but I would recommend going with Super-LTO (or
whatever their latest and greatest format is, I think they have a
200/400gb format available now) I would avoid DLT like the plague.

Hope this helps,
CC
