For a number of devices below it's just the standard behaviour
that a driver will not attach until the device is opened.
(And I'm fairly certain you don't have the other 4 SCSI disks
and possibly not the SCSI tape.

Some of the devices exist but don't have a driver (they're
kinda "passive" from the OS' perspective)

As for qec/qe; those are not supported under S9; but the S8
driver reportedly still runs on S9.
