Hi,
I have a Solaris 8 machine that is running as an NIS client, binding
to a Linux Redhat7.3 machine. Recently, the machine just stop
accepting NIS telnet logins. Local logins works. I can ypcat the
passwd and group maps. Ypwhich also works. I can su to an NIS user.
I can telnet into the machine using the local users (users in
/etc/passwd, and shadow files), but I can't telnet into the machine as
NIS users. I have been looking at this problem for a while and can't
figure it out. I've checked the /etc/nisswitch.conf file, and
everything looks fine. I also have anther Solaris9 machine, and
everything is still running fine on it.
The error I get in the telnet session is:
login: han
Password:
Login incorrect
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Han
