I have a Compaq R6000 UPS (6 kW rating) which I'd like to monitor with
a SPARC 20 and use that to shut down another Sun if the batteries are
near exhaustion. Does anyone know of any software (free if possible)
that can be used for this?
I found this project on Sourceforge
http://sourceforge.net/projects/apcupsd/
but the project homepage would imply it only works for APC UPS's.
Compaq do software for Compaq hardware and Windoze, but not Suns. The
UPS I have has a couple of serial ports, but there is no ethernet
port, which is avialable as a plug-in card.
The R6000 is a current model, and I believe fairly popular, so
hopefully someone know a way to do this.
