Hi,
I'm trying to set up a small number of SunBlades in a lab environment,
with the users having all their stuff in a SunFire server, with NIS+ as
the naming service.
Before populating the NIS+ tables on the newly configured root server,
I'd like to make sure I've got them right so I won't have to start
correcting and reloading from the start.
For the automounter to work, what maps do I have to load in the NIS+
space? The default auto_master comes set up like this:
# Master map for automounter
#
+auto_master
/net -hosts -nosuid,nobrowse
/home auto_home -nobrowse
/xfn -xfn
Do I have to remove the "+auto_master" entry on the file that
nispopulate is going to load?
On the "blank" default auto_home map:
# Home directory map for automounter
#
+auto_home
Do I have to add a line for each and every user ? Like:
joeuser theserver:/export/home/joeuser
Or is there some shortcut notation to tell it to look for joeuser's home
directory under theserver:/export/home ? Also on this subject, does that
mean that a new entry has to be added to the auto_home map every time a
new user is added ? Finally, do all home directories have to be right
under /home ? Or can you have subdirectories, like /home/dept1/joeuser ?
Thanks,
J. Courcoul
