Hi Tony, Dave, Scott and list,

thanks for your advices.
I had the old problem of a missing "install" user which is
listed within the FAQ
(http://www.science.uva.nl/pub/solaris/solaris2.html#q5.59).

I was a bit dazzled about the checkinstall error and didn't
believe that it was a user-problem.
