Has anyone else seen the following problem? Our OEM has warned us
to not install the 113329-XX patches for some time now saying that it
breaks lpadmin. Sure enough when I did a clean install of Solaris
9 9/04 (which has 113329-09 as a unremovable part of the install)
I found that lpadmin is unable to create printers which use the
parallel port. If I execute...
lpadmin -p testprinter -v /dev/ecpp0 -T PS -I postscript
...I get an error message...
>UX:lpadmin: ERROR: "/dev/ecpp0" is a symlink that points to a file with

It appears that the security patch for lpadmin makes it unable
to cope with the fact that the symlink for /dev/ecpp0 is root:root
whereas the actual device file that it points to is lp:sys. Any
advice on solving this would be greatly appreciated.
