Hi folks,

a company I am working for has an old Sun386i running an
application for Somnopolygraphy (monitoring of human sleep). After
moving the computer to another room, the computer does not boot anymore.
  It stops with the following output and waits (seemingly) forever:

   Sun Workstation, Model Sun386i/150, Type-4 Keyboard
   Rom Rev 4.5, 16.0 MB memory installed, Serial #...
   Ethernet address ..., Host ID:...

   sod0: Delta Microsystems Copyright 1988 rev 2.0 10/16/88 (386_4.0)

   WARNING: TOD clock not initialized --- CHECK AND RESET THE DATE!

After quite a bit searching on the internet I found some old FAQ and
mailing list archive. From those I conclude that the problem may be a
dead battery of the NVRAM. I will try a new one this weekend.

However, in the future it would be more secure to run the application on
an newer computer. The company is not able to buy an entirely new sleep
laboratory system, so the current application which is only available in
binary format would have to run on a newer PC.

Therefore my question: Do Sun386i binaries run on any newer hardware,
with an OS like Solaris, Linux, ...BSD on it? I found that Solaris has
a binary compatibility package, but that seems to work only for binaries
compiled for SunOS4.1. The Sun386i runs 4.0.2.

Does anybody know an ftp holding sun386i related stuff? The ftps I
found mentioned are not existing any more or don't contain the
directories anymore.
