A bit of both. The V2[14]0 have onboard GBE, but the TCP/IP stack
in SOlaris 9 is noticably better than on previous versions. When I
upgraded my Ultra 1 web server to Solaris 9 (from 7 or 8, can't remember
now), I literally had customers asking me what I'd done to improve
the speed. I changed nothing except the OS: same HW, same version of
apps, etc.
