Man i know that you must connect serial port of Sun servers, linux can be do like an Annex (terminal concentrator)!!!! With an old pc and old multiserial pci card your money can to be save! ;)
It's just a lot more convenient if I can avoid any additional hardware. I think a simple serial cable can work. On the SS20 the two serial ports are in the one connector - I suspect in the U60 they are separate, I can't recall. So a Y-cable, with both serial ports wired on the SS20 plug, and two connectors on the U 60, will allow either machine to have console access to the other, which is enough really.
I really want to avoid running another machine 24/7 just for occasional use. If I can use the serial ports on the machines themselves, this should be possible.
My electricity bill is high enough already, with a U60, U80 and SS20 all running 24/7. I don't want to add a PC to that lot too.
