Re: Disk Disappeared ???

On my Blade 150 w/Solaris 10, dual WD 120GB IDE drives.

I was doing a disk to disk backup (using ufsdump | ufsrestore) when all
of the sudden I started to get IO errors on every file. I killed the
backup and tried to restart it - no good. So I tried to do an fsck -
Can't open /dev/rdsk/... So when I ran a format command the disk did
not appear.

I tried a reboot and still no good. So I tried a boot -r still no
good.

Where did it go? How can I get it back/recognized again?

Ideas?

Thanks, Mike

Sounds like a serious hardware problem to me! Shut the box down, open it up and check that the cables are seated correctly. If you don't find a problem with the cables, try a new drive. If that doesn't fix it, try a new mother board or log a service call with Sun.
