'scuse my ignorance, but I have been looking into purchasing the installation disks for Solaris 10. I am a little confused as there is reference to both CD's and DVD's.
My question is: Would the "DVD" disk kit be suitable for reading on a CDROM drive as fitted in an Ultra 5, or is a different drive required?
Yours, completely out of date with current technology,
Les.
No, as someone else said, a CD reader can't read DVDs.
Why not download the CD images? If you have restrictions on the amount you can download (pay per GB for example) that may not be practical. But I have before managed to download Solaris 9 over a 56 k modem. Takes a while, but probably quicker than postage.

Please note my email address changes periodically to avoid spam. It is always of the form: month-year@domain. Hitting reply will work for a couple of months only. Later set it manually. The month is always written in 3 letters (e.g. Jan, not January etc) .
