I tried to mount my 500gb extral usb hard drive in Solaris 10, but I
can't mount it, maybe I don't know how to do it. Here is what I did,
please advise.
500gb has factory FAT32 file system, I know solaris doesn't take NTFS.
Connect it Solaris 10 (X86), run "cfgadm -al", it shows usb/4 has
connection.
under /dev/dsk/, there is new entry c2t0d0s?, c2t0p?
but I can't mount any of them.
#mount -F pcfs /dev/dsk/c2t0p0:c /mnt
/dev/dsk/c2t0p0 is not a DOS file system.
I tried "format -e", it shows extra hard disk, but when i select it to
partion, it can't even do "auto configure"..
what was wrong? I can get OS to detect 8gb usb key without a problem,
but not this 500gb usb hard disk.
Please help me out.
Did you do a devfsadm ?
Any time I mount a USB key on Solaris 10 it auto mounts.
I only do mount -F pcfs device:c /mnt on Solaris 9 machines.
