solaris 10: ge0 delayed startup

I jumpstarted my 280R using the hme0 interface and changed the /etc/
hostname.er0 file to /etc/hostname.ge0 to reference the fiber
interface, but there is a delay between the time the ge0 interface
responds to it's IP address via ping causing svc.startd errors. The
hme0 interface has no such delay.
Here are the ge0 errors:
Rebooting with command: boot

The interface responds fine after these errors and I have no problems
with the machine. Is there any way to avoid these errors? Perhaps
have the IP and ge0 interface come up earlier during bootup?
thanks.
