It was an issue in the mid to late '90s, but admins have long memories. :)
and old hardware.
Anyway, it's only a problem with sun hardware. Everthing else works fine
with either hardcoded speed/duplex or auto negotiate.
I have never had problems with auto negotiate on Sun hardware. The _only_
time I have ever encountered this problem was between an SGI O2 and what
was either a Cisco or an HP switch. This was around 1996.
