Make sure you deselect the Windoze specific Joliet extensions.

Is the S7 CD a Sun original?

In the latter two cases, it's booting off the hard drive.

Could be. Type this at the OK prompt:

        set-defaults

And try the boot cdrom again. Bare in mind that it'll probably
take a LOMG time (a few minutes) for you to see anying, so you
have to patient.
