Maybe somebody could write the "command line GUI" and we
could do away with keyboards forever :-) You know -
along the lines of a PalmPilot when you forget the
strokes, a keyboard GUI that pops up in your favourite
layout and you click on buttons with your mouse.
I don't find the type 6 so evil myself. Checking the
back of the one I'm on now (at home) it's a type 6
but the original non-USB sort. It has Ctrl at bottom
left and caps-lock next to A - I like it this way
(I think the choice was made when selecting best
keyboard controls for Doom and Quake). Backspace
is top right in the numeric row, and escape out
in lala land (nicely isolated). Best of all
I have a UK layout which matches exactly the
PC at home (Sony VAIO) (in the main key section anyway)
and has the pound currency symbol (no not that thing
# which others call pound) where I want them, and ' and #
are where I'd want them. My SunRay kbd is identical
as far as I've noticed, ssave for USB.
Gavin
PS: command line GUI was a joke
