I certainly wouldn't pay that much. I'd pay maybe 200-400 for such a
system at this time. Unless you're getting support or a warranty of
some kind I'd say you're paying toward the upper price of such a
machine. That said, you may want to consider a new machine at that
price range. A Blade 150 isn't that expensive and is still pretty
reasonable as far as performance (I know some people are going to want
to kill me for recommending this machine.) If you don't need SCSI you
can get a new machine with a warranty for close to what you're
thinking about paying. We've given blade 150's to entry level CAD
designers, and with a decent graphics board, they prefered the 150 to
their Ultra 60s. The price for the DAT isn't horrible, but I've seen
them lower too.
