You need to get the machine to the OBP (ok prompt) - if you're running a Sun
keyboard Stop-A will do this
(if you're using a serial terminal you will need to send a break signal).
The default boot device for
Sun machines that perform POST is network, so you should probably try
something like the following;
ok setenv diag-switch? false (disables POST)
ok setenenv boot-device disk (assumes that there is a 'disk' alias )
ok boot (should now boot from the device whose alias is 'disk')
This presupposes that the nvalias 'disk' points to the physical device to
boot the OS from. If this
is not the case you may need to boot from CDROM, and then mount the various
available file-systems
to figure out where the bootable kernel image resides. Conversely you might
just want to do a fresh OS
install by burining Solaris ISO images onto a CDROM and place Solaris Disk 1
of 2 into the CDROM and
from the OBP;
ok boot cdrom
Then just follow the installation guide ....
