I have run three simultaneously off an Ultra 5 with _no_ skipping.

The trick is to set autoup=240 in /etc/system. See Cockcroft &
Pettit, Sun Performance and Tuning, at page 333-4 for a discussion
of why this is appropriate and what it does.
