To add to that bit of good advice, I have known HDD's to fail because the
temperature dropped below 0degC - something like water based lubricants on
the disk spindle freezing and damaging the bearings.
Fun thing was that this happened to the guy who was responsible for
shutting the heating off over an extended Xmas holiday. Guess who had no
back-up :-)
