            Yes -- he was. Or at least the keyboard sequence which sends a
    break via your terminal program. With kermit, it is CTL-\ followed by
    "b" to send a break. Every terminal program does something different
    for that.

            I also use the BREAK key on a plain ASCII terminal (VT-220 is
    the current one) to accomplish that function.
