    Got it going.

    The bit I was missing was yanking the physical keyboard from the
    server.

    After that, a CTRL-Break got me to the OK prompt, and I could boot from
    the CD after that.

    Thanks for all the help! Feels like I'm wading in molasses, but I'll
    get it going fairly soon I'm sure.
