    Did you notice the warning on that web page?

    "Note: The serial port is reserved for special service procedures that
    can be performed only by qualified, trained service personnel. Do not
    attempt to perform any procedures through the serial port or you risk
    damaging the disk tray configuration and data."

    Without very explicit directions from a very reliable source, I wouldn't
    touch that with a ten foot pole!!!! IOW, if you need to ask, get
    professional help!
