Do you use the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive in the system? If so, it
may not work well on edge, depending on the version.
If you have it far enough off the table to allow adequate
airflow, I don't see any problems. Some early RAID systems used the SCA
drives connector down as these would be.
I've run a SS-20 on edge for a long time -- just supported on a
pair of small boxes at the front and back. If I were to do it again, I
would make frames of a tough plastic like Delrin with maximum openings
to allow airflow from the ends.
