I can recommend both 15k and 147GB, as returned by format:

       0. c0t0d0 <SEAGATE-ST318452LC-0004 cyl 18360 alt 2 hd 4 sec 488>
          /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3/sd@0,0
       1. c0t1d0 <FUJITSU-MAP3147NC-0108 cyl 38343 alt 2 hd 8 sec 936>
          /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3/sd@1,0

If you don't need space, get a 15k RPM drive. The difference in
performance is worth every dime if you work with thousands of small
files.
Buy a 147GB drive if you need space. It's not much more expensive than
a 73GB (on ebay), and once the space is there you will use it.

Compared to the original 9.1GB on my U30, both run quiet and cool
unless you are running some insane database query.
Whether you choose size or speed make sure it uses fluid (instead of
ball) bearings and have the right connector (my models are SCA).
