Hmm, I'll try putting the RAM in as you describe and see what happens, the
board isn't *completely* dead as something does come out of the serial port.
I suspect the NVRAM battery is dead as a doornail too. Coming from the PC
world these Unix boxes take some getting used to, just fixed a DEC Multia
that appeared dead but it turned out the battery was dead on that as well as
the fuse supplying 5v to the keyboard/mouse ports was blown so it was going
straight to the serial console but giving a cryptic error about no
interrupts on CPU0.
