(2nd try to post msg.)
OK, Andrew is partially right. At least in theory: I had several SB1k's
and now have two sb2k's (same machine except cosmetics).
I changed cpu's n times.
At first I only had the old type torque tools and everything worked fine
(very good "feeling" to actually control the intensity of your pressure).
Then - in one of my newer sb2k's - there was a new type torque tool
included (the more compact round part sitting near the smart card reader).
AND THE DAMN THING SEEMS TO BE DEFECTIVE, IT NEVER STOPS YOUR PRESSURE
AT ANY TIME!!!
So, without any prior experience and - especially - w/o being EXTREMELY
CAREFUL - I would have damaged CPU AND MoBo, definitely!!
So if you get one, I'd strongly recommend you the older version.
Further hint: Do not remove the plastic "CPU Shroud". This cpuld
potentially do more damage than not doing so.
