What do you need to do? For instance, an Ultra 5 can run operating
systems prior to Solaris 8. No currently shipping model can do that.

For most applications, that's not a problem. But in some circumstances,
it might be.

Probably. What are you running now? How is the software licensed?
Does it key off hostid (which will change)?
