Many cards will always turn video on briefly, just to probe the monitor,
even if it never gets selected as the console.
This is more evident when you have many cards, and all the monitors
click on in sequence, and then go yellow since it's wasn't long enough
to sync up. Then one will come back on, once it's fully inited as console.
Hook up something to the serial port if you can.
If there's trouble, it may often kick over to the serial port as a console,
and tell you what's wrong, there.
Make sure (use eeprom, once booted) that you are still outputing
to your graphics card, and inputing from the keyboard.
You may have lost these settings somehow.
Could be the battery that keeps this alive went dead, even.
Then the settings will stay till the next power loss.
Check your keyboard, too. If either the keyboard and graphics
card fails to configure, it will kick over to serial.
