Rich,
I haven't gotten my hands on an X4100 yet, but as described, the
functionality sounds identical to that of the HP iLo (Integrated Lights
Out) ports on their DL servers which allow you to connect via a web
broswer, and then a Java based app allows you to 'map' your laptop's
CD-ROM drive to the server's and therefore boot from your laptop
machine over the network.
This works great, and if you store the rest of the install media and
share it via NFS for you can setup a machine pretty quickly this way.
I wouldn't want to do the entire OS install via the remote CD-ROM, as I
imagine the virtual media mapping is not nearly as high performance as
NFS at the same network speed (although I'd love to see some
benchmarks!)

P.S.: The galaxy line looks awesome. I'm sure they were well aware of
the capabilities the 'other guys' have in their boxes and it looks like
they've matched or bested them in all areas.
