Crucial sells memory for the U10, but be prepared for a bit of sticker shock. As Sunny pointed out, the U10 uses EDO DIMM's which were never sold in large volumes.

I picked up 2*128 for my Ultra 5 (same memory specs as Ultra 10) from eBay for less than £10 - just look out for EDO memory of the right spec, often described as server memory for e.g. Compaqs and often found in the PC areas of eBay. Make sure you get the faster 50ns memory and the specs are correct.
Indeed - most Pentium Pro based servers used buffered EDO that works in the Ultra5/10. I have a couple of systems populated with RAM from discarded DEC PPro servers. 50ns is preferred, but the reduction in performance when running 60ns RAM isn't significant - especially if the CPU is one of the 2mb cache models.
The Ultra10 has clearance above the RAM slots, so can run any electrically compatible RAM. Ultra5s have the additional constraint of very limited clearance - you must use low profile RAM (rarely found in x86 servers) or loose the floppy drive.
However, the OP wants 1GB total RAM, so needs 256mb sticks. AFAIK he won't find those pulled from old x86 servers.

Careful with DIMMs from old PPro servers etc. There definately are 256MB DIMMs out there from those beasts. But not every 168p 50ns 3.3V buffered EDO DIMM will work correctly.
You need to have 10 or 11 bit column address memory. Most P6 buffered EDO DIMMs have 8/9b column address memory. If you use 8/9b column address DIMMs only 3/4 of the RAM will be accessible.
Finding out which type a DIMM uses is a pain in the rear end. Trial and error works, but can prove expensive and time-consuming. Otherwise look for DIMMs that are advertised to work in Sun systems - they *should* be OK
