W2100Z video card issues

I've got a W2100Z workstation running WinXP. I've replaced the nVidia
video card with a Radeon 9600 card.
The problem is that whenever power is removed from the machine, next
time i boot i get "keyboard error" and have no keyboard or mouse. The
fix is to put the nVidia card back in (with the power cord still
connected), boot the machine past POST, power off, then put the Radeon
card back. It will now work until power happens to be cut again. This
is a total hassle.
I've got the latest BIOS updates from Sun loaded, it made no
difference. I've tried changine various things in the BIOS, that
didn't help either.
Has anyone else noticed strange behaviour in these machines with a
different video card? Any suggestions on a fix?

Thanks
Mike
