Both the hard drive and the CDROM show up..hard drive being the master. I believe the CDROM was set to Cable Select on
They are on the Secondary IDE channel, with the CDROM being the slave, and
the jumper setting though.
around and plugged it in.. Same "Can't read disk label" errors..
So I powered it down, grabbed another IDE CDROM drive that was laying
Any idea's what to try next?
I'd say cable it up properly so the hard drive is the primary IDE master and
the CD-ROM drive is the primary IDE slave.
That much should allow you to 'boot cdrom' instead of having to do a 'boot
cdrom2'.
If it still complains, then try a different CD-ROM disk. You already tried a
different CD-ROM drive so I doubt it's that.
