Just like any computer interface adapter out there, there's the good the bad and the ugly. I've got two VGA adapters for my Ultra 10 now to get my Creator3D card connected to a 19" Sony CRT and as I play around to get the best looking resolution and scan rate...each adapter seems to have it's own "personality".

Is there a vendor who's got a reputation for good video quality? Or am I just stuck with trying out a bunch of connectors-r-us.com vendors with solder-thrown-at-the wall quality...searching google links?

Or am I dealing with a hardware problem on the machine. I've got a couple of machines with Matrox video cards and they've always pushed for high quality RAMDACs so I'm somewhat spoiled by that. Would an Elite3D card work in this Ultra10 Creator3D machine?... even perhaps better output circuitry a la Matrox PC video cards.

Exactly what is you problem?

For best video, read the next posting using XVR-600 which sales on Ebay for $250 now!.

The problem is that on the monitor I would like to use (a Sony CPD-G400, http://www.dansdata.com/sg400.htm) shows an image that is useable and I'm not having any problem getting my desired (and mfg. spec "best") resolution/refresh rate but has a noticeable side to side wiggle to it. It's not a tremendous amount at all but this is connecting it to a 19" aperture grille screen when it was on a rather boring 17" shadow mask screen. So I'm seeing this as an issue because I'm movin' on up.

I think *if* I felt the old Ultra 10 was worth $250 for video, I'd rather get it an LCD of its own as it looks fine on my Samsung using the VGA connection instead of the DVI.
