I've tried with Solaris 8. There was a message referring to obsolete
graphics libraries. Don't remember the details but it would seem that the
demo SunVideo software was written with soon to be obsolete software.
If you know of any editable source for the SunVideo, I would appreciate
that.
BTW
Solaris 9 would not load on the sparc 5, as I recall.
Forgive the basic question, but where are the security patches for solaris
5.7

Hi,

The system is up and running with 5.7 and at least the SunVideo app runs.If fully patched it should be as safe as S10 I think.
I am concerned that it may not be as secure as later versions. However
the Solaris 5.8 won't run the SunVideo card. I would like to run secure
versions of ftp and telnet and shut down other inetd.conf services. Does
5.7 have any major vulnerabilities?
But have you tried Solaris 8 or 9 with Sunvideo, if it does not work its a
bug for Sun to fix I think.
