I'm almost convinced to get a Syskonnect card - except they seem to be a
bitch to get in Australia. I've found the PCI-E, the PCI-X, the PCI-64
versions, but not the PCI-32 one.

I don't think that there is a special PCI-32 but you can put a PCI-64
card in any PCI slot.
Or is there no room for a long 64bit Card in the Blade 100?

There's plenty of room. I have a 64-bit PCI SunSwift card in my Blade 100.
It just doesn't use the 64-bit-ness having the card edge hang over.
