Sun HD50 'Regulated' SCSI Terminator Question!

Hi All,
I have a couple of left over HD50 'Regulated' SCSI terminators, part
number 150-1785-02. I used one on my PC to terminate a Adaptec 39160
50 pin chain, no devices attached but Adaptec recommends to terminate
the chain. Once I pluged the Sun terminator into the HD50 (internal
50 pin to external HD50 cable) connector it caused lots of problems.
It down graded my 160 drives to 40 and it keeps locking up the SCSI
scan process to the point that I can not boot at all or I am able to
boot but the SCSI chain would lock up during or after the boot process
anyway.
My question, before I spend any more money, is there a difference
between the Sun terminator and a regular Active SCSI terminator? If I
buy a different brand will it make a difference?
Thanks for any help,
Charles
.
