Help! Have I destroyed my v40z?

I was using my v40z recently, and wanted to try using the service
processor
via the serial port. Connected a serial cable and a VT320, but wasnt
able
to use it.
However when I cycled the power, and the v40z came up again, alls I
got
was a flashing amber light on the front panel.
I've tried everything I know to get the service processor up but
nothing
works. Is this a dead v40z, and how on earth have I destroyed it?
Just for info, the service processor was recently reset to defaults so
the
IP address is 0.0.0.0 - as such I dont think I can use the management
port.
Tried removing the CMOS jumper, and jumping TK84 and J19 to use the
serial port, but the SP does not boot.
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks
