I'm am trying to run fsck on a T3+, connected to an E-420R. The T3+
is connected to the E-420R, by a fiber cable, and a qla2300 card. I
see it when I do a format. I was able to run "newfs /dev/rdsk/
c1t1d0s0" without a problem. When I attempted to run fsck, (fsck -y /
dev/rdsk/c1t1d0s0), it gave the following message: --> fsck:
operation not applicable to FSType ufS.
Is that case-sensitive spelling of ufS correct or a typo? The error
message is consistent with a filesystem that isn't understood.
# fsck -F ufs /
/dev/dsk/c0t8d0s0 IS CURRENTLY MOUNTED READ/WRITE.
CONTINUE? n
Program terminated
# fsck -F ufS /
fsck: operation not applicable to FSType ufS
I have installed other T3's in the past, but never a T3+. Can anyone
tell me why it doesn't recognize the local ufs filesystem type, and
also hopefully tell me what file system type it needs to be.
The T3+ is just storage. So it should be whatever filesystem you want.
'newfs' is only going to install 'ufs'.
The default type for 'fsck' is pulled from the FS type column in
/etc/vfstab. Check there for a typo.
